Generate more power where it is used and help households and small businesses spend less on electricity.
The future of affordable energy
By the end of 2026, the world will have installed approximately
150 million rooftop solar systems. As people, governments and
the industry working together, we can double that number by
2030 bringing affordable, reliable and resilient energy to more
than one billion people. We are working with countries, cities,
communities and industry to deploy 300 million rooftop
solar and battery systems by 2030.

WHY IT MATTERS
Solar on homes, shops, schools, clinics and community buildings puts power close to the people who use it. The benefits are practical and immediate.
Reaching the 300 Million Solar Homes goal won’t happen through a single policy, program or investment. It takes action across government, cities, finance and energy systems. These five focus areas work together to make solar and batteries simpler, more affordable and more accessible for households and communities around the world.
The world has already installed around 150 million rooftop solar systems - but we can do much more. 300 Million Solar Homes aims to accelerate action and unlock the policies, action and support needed to bring solar to many more millions of people and homes by 2030.

Rooftop solar power is moving.
Our job is to help it move faster.

how you can get involved
No single organisation can deliver 300 Million Solar Homes. It will take global effort. Governments, cities, businesses, investors, community groups and the media all have a role to play. Together, they can make rooftop solar more affordable, more accessible and available to a million more households and businesses.
